Week 7- Reflection

Week 7- Reflection

I felt more knowledgeable after this assignment as it really expanded my vocabulary to describe garments. I believe that it is vital to be able to express your own garment design details to your client in future.

Below are the top three garments that I favour from this trip.
#1 Dior Runway dress
The intricate designs on the dress really blew me away, I wish I could own this dress in my wardrobe if it was a cheaper price. I would wear this for graduation or prom!

Elaine 'carelessly' handling the Dior dress in the fitting room, holding up our 'tuition grant' just like that!

#2 Burberry lace tiered dress
There were a lot of details on this dress which made it more pricey than a usual dress. Although I really love the design and the fitting was perfect for me, I felt that yellow colour was not a pleasant-looking colour against my skin tone.

#3 Valentino Black lace dress
My eyes were fixated to this black dress hanging on the elegant clothing rack the moment I stepped into the store, as if it was calling my name. However, as I put it on, it was too loose for me. Even with the smallest size, the sleeves covered three-quarter of my hand.

It was a thrilling experience to fake a different identity and walking into high-end stores! At beginning it felt intimidating, as we 'got the hang of it', we confidently strut into the high-end stores, trying on the garments that we like and store keepers tailing us around. I long for the day where I do not have to 'fake' it for assignments, and I could proudly walk into the stores with the intention to purchase!
