After expanding our knowledge and getting a deeper insight of the fashion world, it is time to apply everything we have learned into the next assignment- Designing a garment collection.
Firstly, we are required to come up with a theme based on the latest trend reports from WGSN. Next, we perform primary and secondary research based on the chosen theme. Primary research means to source information directly from interviewing people or visiting the location. Secondary research sources such as websites and magazines.

WGSN 2018 Spring Summer Prediction
We were particularly attracted to the theme 'Psychotropical' on WGSN's 2018 forecast. When I first came across this theme, I could related to vivid colours and nature. It would be absolutely perfect to be able to design a quirky resort wear with bold colours.

Psychotropical's colour scheme
Psychotropical's colour scheme consist of mostly highly saturated colours, which gave a bigger opportunity of mix and matching pieces of garments. Particularly, colour blocking and vibrant print designs.

1. Tropical Printed Fabric (Light)
|
2. Tropical Printed Fabric (Dark)
We selected a dark tone tropical printed fabric and a light tone tropical printed fabric to contrast against each other. The psychedelic and botanical prints will stimulate a hallucinatory and trippy experience for those with wanderlusts, hence the theme Psychotropical and the title of the collection -'Heroine'.
